Location: Santa Monica Blvd between Formosa Ave and Poinsettia Dr

“Back Lot” is located on the south side of Santa Monica Boulevard, between Formosa Avenue and Poinsettia Ave in the City of West Hollywood and is visible from the street.

This project acknowledges the rich history of the site, originally the Pickford-Fairbanks Studios. It ist the celebration of the mythos of movie making and a tribute to the collective creative genius “behind the scenes.”

Factoid: The site of the installation was originally a driveway and garage built in the mid 1930s for Howard Hughes, then a movie producer with offices on the lot.
